Susan Daly-Stanek (Director)  TCRG,ADCRG

Susan Daly Stanek was born in Dublin, where she began dancing at the age of 3. Susan enjoyed a flourishing dance career and traveled the world as a member of an international touring group. She also joined the John Players Theater Company, "Tops of the Town."

Susan moved to the United States in 1986. While living in Manhattan, Susan continued to dance taking lessons at the Martha Grahman School. In 1995 Susan and her husband moved to Ridgewood to raise their growing family.  In 2007, Susan was honored to receive the "Top 40 Under 40 " award from the Irish Echo. Ridgewood Irish Dance offers classes from toddler to adult, in instructional traditional Irish Dance, progressive Irish Dance and Dance Drama. Ridgewood Irish Dance has performed internationaly and shared the stage with Gaelic Storm, Cherish The Ladies and Eileen Ivers.  They have appered on local and international networks.  Ridgewood Irish Dance college students have been awarded many Heritage awards and grants for their achievements in Irish culture and dance.


Ashling is a high ranked competitive dancer. She currently holds five national titles, including three firsts. Currently holding the 2014  Mid-Atlantic  Champion title, the 2014 National Champion title, and the 2014 All-Ierland Champion title and won a gold medal in April of 2013 at the European Championships in Germany, it was also her first time competing overseas. Ashling enjoys working with children of all ages and levels of dancers. She is continuing her dancing career at Saint Anslems College in New Hampshire. Ashling plans to continue competing as well as visting the dance school and dancer as often as she can!


Lindsey is the baby of the Stanek family. She hold five national titles, including her first place in 2012, as well as the 2012 Mid-Atlanitc First Place Champion title. Lindsey is also the curent 2014 National Champion! While competing in Germany, Lindsey recieved a couple of third, fourth, and fifth placements in the Grades' feis, competing her first time over seas. Lindsey enjoys choreagraphing for the younger dances, as well as teaching and choosing music. She plans to contiune her dancing throughout high school and college.



Ridgewood Irish Dance encourages mentoring and community service.  Many of our senior dancers help assist with younger students, from teaching steps to taking care of them at events and performances.  Ridgewood Irish Dance provides a positive environment for children of all ages and cultures to come together and be part of something special! Lexi, Katie, and Moyu currently teach durring the week along side Susan. We would like to thank them as well as our other Senior dancers for all of there dedication and hard work and sharing there love of dance with our younger students.
